Who has the fastest team in town? The city's top running squads race for bragging rights in this teams-only five-miler.
This race is open only to members of established, NYRR-recognized teams (see requirements for entry below). Men and women race in separate events. See NYRR Team Championships: Men (5M) for details on the men's race.
Please remember to keep the park clean for park users! Please do not staple, tape, or stake any flyers to Central Park trees or benches, and do not erect any tents or string any tarps. If you choose to meet up with your team after finishing the race, please maintain a clean area and throw all trash into the provided garbage bins.
Event hashtag: #NYRRTeamChamps—use it in your public tweets, Instagrams, and Facebook posts!
This is a women’s club points race worth double points.
Only members of established and NYRR-recognized running teams may enter this race and receive credit for it. However, you do not need to be a NYRR member to enter. In addition, entrants must have completed at least one NYRR scored/qualifying race between August 31, 2016, and August 4, 2017, for the team for which they will be scoring. Furthermore, they may not have competed for that team until at least 90 days after having competed for another team.
If a participating team has not fielded a full team in their division (men’s and women’s open, 40+, 50+, 60+, 70+) at a prior NYRR team-points race since January 1, 2016, the team may not score in that division at the NYRR Team Championships.
All team categories for the NYRR Team Championships are scored by time. Team categories are as follows:
Mile 1: Start on East Drive just south of the 102nd Street entrance ramp and head north around the top of the park. Climb the race's toughest incline, Harlem Hill, before the one-mile mark.
Mile 2: Continue south on West Drive through a series of three rolling hills between the Transverse and the southwestern edge of the Reservoir.
Mile 3: Run downhill for about a half-mile, then turn left onto the 72nd Street Transverse and pass Bethesda Terrace on your left at the three-mile point.
Mile 4: Turn left again and run north on East Drive. Pass the Boathouse, then climb Cat Hill to the four-mile mark behind the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Mile 5: Continue north on a flat section past the bronze statue of New York City Marathon co-founder Fred Lebow near East 90th Street, then downhill as you approach the finish at the 102nd Street Transverse.
