John is a RRCA Level 1 certified running coach. He worked at the City Sports for Kids program at the Armory and coached at the previous NYRR running classes for over 10 years. He has run over 250 road races, including 25 marathons. The New York City Marathon in 1983 was his first. Although it was a horrible, rain soaked, and cold day, it set the tone for never giving up, which he has followed to this day. He has finished every race he has started.
